We are convinced that both Africa and Europe will benefit from more systematic and evidence-based research and teaching on the European Union, its politics, institutions, and cultures within Africa. And it is this that has defined PAES's mission.

- Jean Monnet Project: On 24 November 2022, the University of Pretoria concluded its two-year AURORA project (funded by Erasmus+), which is centred on African Union and EU relations. More information can be found here.
- PAES third general meeting (August 26, 2022): the third meeting was held in the aftermath of the 6th EU-AU Summit which took place in February 2022. The third meeting advanced discussion that aimed to relaunch an interregional relationship between the AU and EU under a 'joint vision'. More information can be found here.
