Research

 Karoline Van den Brande is a member of the Research Group on Global Environmental Governance and Sustainable Development at the Institute for International and European Policy (Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Leuven). She is also working for the Flemish Centre of Expertise for Sustainable Development. Her doctoral research focuses on Flemish sustainable development policy and multilateral decision-making (promotor: prof. dr. Hans Bruyninckx).

In June 2010, the Centre has been recognized as K.U.Leuven Centre of Excellence. Since then, it has launched a 7-year research programme on ‘Global Governance and Democratic Government’ (2010-2017), which aims at the construction of a new paradigm for democratic global governance.
