Dr. Tom Ruys studied law and international relations at the universities of Ghent (Ma. Law; Ba. Political Science), Nottingham (LLM Public International Law) and Leuven (Master in Conflict and Sustainable Peace Studies). From 2004 to 2009 he worked as full-time doctoral fellow (FWO-aspirant) at the Institute for International Law at the University of Leuven. He was a visiting researcher at Yale Law School in Spring 2008 and defended his doctoral thesis in Leuven in 2009 (T. Ruys, 'Armed Attack' and Article 51 UN Charter (Cambridge: CUP) (2010), 585 p.). |
