Members

The Centre brings together more than 60 members, including 22 professors, 8 postdoctoral scholars, 33 junior researchers from the humanities and social sciences at the University and 8 external associate research fellows. In its spirit of co-ownership, most of the Centre’s senior and junior members are affiliated both to the Centre and to their own institutes. Apart from bringing together the aforementioned research groups and researchers, the Centre also carries out its own interdisciplinary research projects.

Senior Members

Senior members are post-doc researchers from the University of Leuven who work on topics of the Centre and are committed to contribute to the interdisciplinary mission of the Centre via participating in activities of the Centre.

Junior Members

Junior members are pre-doc researchers from the University of Leuven who work on topics of the Centre and are committed to contribute to the interdisciplinary mission of the Centre via participating in activities of the Centre.

Interns

The Centre offers highly motivated and dynamic young researchers the opportunity to gain relevant research experience via a system of unpaid internships.

Associate Fellows

Through its Associate Fellows, the Centre aims to create a wider community of experts, involving resident and non-resident academic experts with whom the Centre collaborates, but also practitioners (diplomats, policy-makers, ...) who work locally or internationally on global governance issues generally, and on the specific themes of the Centre in particular.

Visiting Scholars and Professors

The Centre offers interested scholars, who are working on the topics of the Centre, the opportunity to pursue their research and writing at the Centre.

K.U.Leuven Centre of Excellence

In June 2010, the Centre has been recognized as K.U.Leuven Centre of Excellence. Since then, it has launched a 7-year research programme on ‘Global Governance and Democratic Government’ (2010-2017), which aims at the construction of a new paradigm for democratic global governance.
