Short Bio

Sanderijn Duquet (Master of Laws, Ghent U. and LL.M. International Legal Studies, American U. Washington College of Law) joined the Centre for Global Governance as a doctoral researcher. Sanderijn is working on the inter-university project “Democratic Governance and Reflexive Theory of Collective Action”, in which she explores the impact of foreign direct investment on human development. Sanderijn is also involved in the project on “New International Law: Mapping the Action and Testing Concepts of Accountability and Effectiveness”. Her interests include general public international law, international environmental law, law of international organizations and human rights law.

K.U.Leuven Centre of Excellence

In June 2010, the Centre has been recognized as K.U.Leuven Centre of Excellence. Since then, it has launched a 7-year research programme on ‘Global Governance and Democratic Government’ (2010-2017), which aims at the construction of a new paradigm for democratic global governance.
